    Traditional Chinese painting is recognized as \u201cguo hua (\u56fd\u753b)\u201d. Like calligraphy, the painting is done using a brush dipped in black or colored ink, commonly on paper or silk. The finished work can be produced on scrolls and hung.<\/span><\/p>\n

    The Origins of Chinese Painting<\/b><\/p>\n

    \u00a0With a history of more than 6000 years, Chinese Painting developed nearly\u00a0 221 BC during the Eastern Jin Dynasty, when it was chased by the wealthy people who had plenty of\u00a0 extra time. Then, Chinese Painting became popular nearly 581 AD since more and more people began to compliment its beauty. During this time, people started to paint real subjects like trees and flowers in Chinese painting, and the \u201csix principles\u201d of Chinese paintings were broadly\u00a0 initiated till the 1300s.<\/span><\/p>\n

    \u00a0<\/span>Brushes<\/b> :<\/span>Ink brush is the important instrument in Chinese painting. At first, Chinese painting brushes were made of fox hair or goat hair\u00a0 because these animals\u2019 hair was acceptable in producing brushes that were both soft and thin . These brushes have the benefit of holding up against pressure. Brown wolf hair is also used in making brushes, especially harder brushes.<\/span><\/p>\n

    \u00a0<\/span>Ink<\/b> :<\/span>Oil or acrylic are is famous\u00a0 in Western art, while Chinese ink is used in traditional Chinese painting. The ink was made by a mixture of pine soot and animal glue originally.Mostly , the ink comes in the shape of thick black sticks and used in combination with an ink stone. The way it used is\u00a0 mostly different from that of the printer ink used today. The painter will wet the ink stone and then shred the ink brush on the stone, wetting the stick, making the ink run so that it can be used for painting.<\/span><\/p>\n

    \u00a0<\/span>Silk and Paper<\/b> : <\/b>Most of the artworks in ancient China were done on the silk paper. However, the silk paper was a bit costly ,\u00a0 so only very essential documents and paintings will use such kind of paper. By the first century, when the early shape\u00a0 of paper was created , it became much low-priced to write or paint.<\/span><\/p>\n

    Traditional painting can also be done in albums and on walls, lacquer work or other media. When looking at a Chinese painting, you may not primarily realize its complications .
